Description

Langstone Cottage is a delightful traditional detached Dartmoor property with a glorious outlook across the pastoral countryside of the Wrey Valley to the heights of Pepperdon and Mardon Downs on the skyline. Built of stone beneath a newly rethatched roof, the cottage is bright and well presented following a recently completed full renovation to provide a very comfortable historic home. It is believed that the property originated from about 1500 and smoke blackened thatch and roof timbers indicate that it was originally a hall house with the interior open to the thatch. The current interior layout dates from the changes made in the 17th and 18th centuries.
