Interest in home-buying 'growing'

More evidence that the housing market is currently at an affordable
level for buyers has been given by mortgage broker Alexander
Hall.
The company has suggested that there has been an upturn in people
looking to take out home loans.
Andy Pratt, chief operating officer at the firm, said there are a
number of positive patterns in the housing sector at present.
"The positive areas of the market are ... where there has been a
pick-up in the number of applicants and the number of people that
are interested in buying," he explained.
Mr Pratt added that this section of the market is showing "some
very positive signs" ahead of the 2009 second quarter results and
the rest of the year as a whole.
His comments follow an announcement by the British Bankers'
Association last week, which revealed that 26,097 new mortgages
were approved in March.
