New NLA board director calls for high standards

The "highest standards of customer service" should be followed by
professionals involved in the private-rented sector, according to
the new National Landlords Association (NLA) board director
Sussanne Chambers.
In a statement announcing her arrival in the role yesterday, the
landlord said that the "overwhelming majority" of her peers believe
professional development is a key factor in ensuring the industry
maintains this benchmark.
Her comments come in a month that has seen the Association of
Residential Letting Agents (ARLA) and the Communities and Local
Government department try to improve the way the buy-to-let sector
is monitored.
A new licensing scheme for letting agents was revealed by ARLA,
while the government has called for a landlord register.
David Salusbury, chairman of the NLA, said: "The sector is going
through a period of change and growth and Sussanne is perfectly
placed to help deal with these changes."
