Newton Abbot Market, located within the centre of Newton Abbot, provides a traditional venue for the livestock market. The market draws livestock from across the South Hams and beyond and is well supported by buyers located across the South West.
In March 2012 Rendells and Sawdye and Harris combined within the market to for Newton Abbot Livestock Auctioneers (NALA). The decision made by both firms has resulted in a considerably greater level of stock put through the market in 2012 and 2013 which has continued in the years since.
Rendells Rural Department operates a market at Newton Abbot for Prime Cattle, Cull Cows and Sheep with sales of Store Cattle and monthly sales of bTB restricted stock. In addition, seasonal sales of Breeding Cattle, Sheep and Couples are held at the appropriate time.
Fortnightly on Saturdays between March and November Rendells hold Poultry and Smallholders sales. Seasonal South West Horse and Tack Sales are run at Newton Abbot Market.

Newton Abbot Livestock Auctioneers hold a regular Horse and Tack sale on special Saturday sales alongside their poultry sales. The sale regularly attracts entries of up to 60 horses and ponies and in excess of 500 lots of tack and saddlery. The sale of tack begins at 10:30 a.m with the sale of horses at 12 noon.
The market is situated in the heart of Newton Abbot and has good access and easy links to the whole of the South West with buyers and sellers regularly attending from Wales, the Midlands and the South West.
