Chagford August Fair of Sheep, Poultry, Machinery and Sundries attracted an excellent entry of 454 sheep which was the best for some years.
Store lambs sold to a top of £74 for Mr A W Barrow of Bickington. Ewes were also in demand with a top of £110 for Texel 2-T & 6-T from Mr M Mortimore.A good entry of rams saw a near total sale with a top of £360 for a Texel Shearling for Mr M Mortimore.
The next sale at Chagford will be the Annual Pony Drift Sale on Thursday 12th October with a further Machinery and Sheep Sale on Saturday 21st October.
