Provenance: The portrait is of Gwedoline Gertrude Getgood, the grandmother of the vendor. They met the John family while on holiday on Hayling Island in the 1920's. John was quite taken by the young lady and offered to paint her there and then, the great aunt recalls it did not take long to paint.
