With grass markets scarcely remaining in England, Rendells Chagford market proudly offers a rare and welcomed opportunity to sell in a traditional environment having wooden rails and gates and with grass growing underfoot. Famously, this is one of the only livestock markets within the Dartmoor National Park and the last to uphold the time honoured tradition of the 'drift sales' of the Dartmoor Hill Pony.
The market has ample parking on hardstanding for vehicles and offers enough turning and parking for lorries with complimentary washout facilities available. In addition to this and bound by mature Devon hedges, there is a pasture field used for sales in the summer months. The market is seasonal but is going from strength to strength with an increase of livestock numbers and more frequent sale dates for cattle, sheep, horses, ponies, poultry and machinery. Please feel free to contact one of our auctioneers for more information.
